Back on Track!

Happy spring everyone! This is just a quick note to let you know that Lisa’s recovery is back on track!

The pneumonia has cleared up and she’s off antibiotics. Her GI system has recovered and her eating habits are back to normal. Her strength and balance are steadily improving. She’s able to move around the house without the use of her walker. She’s been able to enjoy the gorgeous weather we have been having by taking assisted walks up and down the driveway. We even went on a golf cart ride around the lake!

She continues to get a Herceptin infusion once every three weeks as a systemic treatment for her stage IV breast cancer. Nothing is scheduled yet, but sometime in the next month she’ll have a series of CT/MRI scans to check the effectiveness of the whole brain radiation and look at the rest of her body for evidence of disease progression.

Thank you everyone for your continued thoughts, prayers, and support.

I hope you are all enjoying spring weather that is as amazing as ours. What a difference a year makes! Last year at this time, the lake was frozen and we had 2+ feet of snow on the ground. This year, the lake has been thawed for weeks and today the temperature is going to be in the 80°!
