Waiting for Bronchoscopy Results; WBRT Resumed

Yesterday, Tuesday, Lisa had a successful bronchoscopy. They were able to get several samples from her lungs to analyze. The samples were sent out for various tests and we should have the first results back tomorrow.

In the meantime, she is still on the same antibiotics and those seem to be working. Her latest chest x-ray shows some improvement, her breathing is noticeably easier, and her O2 levels are also better. In fact, the doctors felt that her breathing had improved enough for her to resume whole brain radiation today.

The radiation center is about 4 miles from the hospital, so she got a nice, warm, comfortable ride over and back in the back of an ambulance. Since she missed the last two days of WBR treatments, they tacked on two more treatments to the end of her schedule putting her last treatment on March 7th.

Lisa will be able to come home, if the broncho results are favorable and her breathing continues to improve and she no longer needs intravenous antibiotics. Hopefully, that will be before the weekend and maybe even tomorrow.
