ICU: Day 5

Lisa was up in a chair today for several hours and was eating a regular diet. I sound like a broken record, but she will probably move out of the ICU tomorrow. The reason for the delay is because she has a drain tube in her head that drains excess cerebral spinal fluid so that it will not build up. They clamped the tube this morning and are carefully monitoring her intracranial pressure (ICP). If the ICP is stable and below a given level on Thursday morning, then they can remove the drain and she can move out of the ICU.

I hope that all of you stuck in snowstorms are doing OK!
